Assemblyman Reggie Jones-Sawyer teams with Auto Club of Southern California to Provide Hundreds of South Los Angeles Families Free Turkeys

For immediate release:

SOUTH LOS ANGELES, California – (November 24, 2020) – The Annual Operation Gobble hosted by California State Assemblymember Reggie Jones-Sawyer (D-South Los Angles) will provide over 200 families in Assembly District 59 (AD59) with free turkeys in time to enjoy during the Thanksgiving holiday. A drive thru distribution will take place on Tuesday, November 24th beginning at 10:00 a.m. directly in front of the Los Angeles Coliseum.

“This year I am pleased to partner with the Auto Club of Southern California to make this holiday special for families in my district. COVID has impacted many in the communities I serve making this event more important than previous years. I am thankful for the volunteers and want everyone to enjoy time with their loved ones and wish them a healthy and safe holiday,” said Assemblymember Jones-Sawyer.

“We are excited to help give back to the residents of south Los Angeles and to work with Assemblymember Jones-Sawyer in distributing the turkeys at this year’s event,” said Lincoln Tomlin, Vice President of Public and Government Affairs with the Auto Club. “We want to wish everyone a safe Thanksgiving and look forward to future community support events in this and other areas.”

This year, due to COVID-19, the event will be a drive up with all guidelines in place to protect residents and volunteers who will safely place the items in the trunk of each vehicle.
