(Los Angeles) - Assemblymember Reginald Byron Jones-Sawyer (D-Los Angeles), Co-Chair of the Assembly Select Committee on the Status of Boys and Men of Color, joined several of his fellow lawmakers at the California African American Museum for an informational briefing on the importance of Assembly Concurrent Resolution 71. ACR 71, sponsored by the California Legislative Black Caucus, is intended to highlight the legacy and invaluable contribution of California’s Africana Studies departments and programs and other related academic disciplines. “We’ve looked at the ethnic studies programs across California with a very, very keen eye of what has been done in the past and, unfortunately, what may not be done in the future.” said Assemblymember Jones-Sawyer.
