Assemblymember Jones-Sawyer Stands with the Youth of California to Say “Enough is Enough” to Gun Violence

For immediate release:

(Sacramento) - Today Assemblymember Reginald Jones-Sawyer, Sr. in partnership with, Improve Your Tomorrow, Women’s March Sacramento, Youth Alive, and the Brady Campaign stood beside California’s youth who are saying “enough is enough” to gun violence.

“Our children have watched in horror as mass shootings have become common on our campuses and in our communities,” said Assemblymember Jones-Sawyer.  “Every young life lost is one too many. Young people need to be heard as they are our best future messengers.”

While mass shootings have driven headlines, communities of color suffer the most from firearm related violence. Researchers have noted that reducing these deaths requires a comprehensive public safety approach.

Assemblymember Reginald Byron Jones-Sawyer, Sr. represents South Los Angeles, Florence-Firestone, Walnut Park, and a portion of Huntington Park.
