You are invited to attend an in-person forum discussion on Reparations.
I will host members of the first in the nation California Reparations Task Force to discuss the historic June 6, 2022, initial report on reparations and aspects of the final report due out in 2023.
It's important to me to have the Task Force convene in my District and share the findings of the report with residents of South Los Angeles. The objective of the Task Force is to study what reparations would look like today and how best to positively impact those determined to be recipients. The report also serves as a historical guide showcasing how slave laws from the south at the end of the Civil War penetrated the development of the west including the founding of California and its laws.
