(Sacramento) - The California State Assembly took a firm stance against the Trump Administration’s proposed expansion of offshore drilling operations in California. As the former Chair of the Committee of Arts, Entertainment, Sports, Tourism, and Internet Media, Majority Leader Ian Calderon (D-Whittier) expressed concern about the harmful effects of oil drilling and visible derricks off the California coast and its potential negative impact on tourism. “The impacts this would have on tourism would be enormous,” Assemblymember Calderon said. “We have a lot of people that come from not only all over the country but all over the world to enjoy our beautiful coastline.” Here’s more from Majority Leader Calderon in this Assembly Access video.
