(Whittier, CA) - Assemblymember Ian Calderon, (D-Whittier) along with Google, Inc. hosted the Online Safety Roadshow, at Katherine Edwards Middle School to encourage students to be smart about the content they share online. Assemblymember Calderon says, “We’re talking to middle school students, trying to help educate them on how to be safe and cognizant of what they’re doing online.” Google’s Online Safety Roadshow, often referred to as the “driver’s ed for the web”, was created in consultation with principals and child safety groups, National Association of Secondary School Principals and iKeepSafe. The goal of the program is to teach students how to be smart about the content they share online, focusing on important skills such as creating a safe, memorable password.
