I am devasted by the wildfires that have ravaged the great Los Angeles Region. My heart goes out to all the residents, business, and first responders impacted by wildfires raging in Southern California. My office and I continue to monitor the ongoing situation and are ready to support the needs of AD 57 residents. Below is information and updates to help keep you safe and informed.
FIRE UPDATES
All active incidents can be viewed on CAL FIRE’s website: fire.ca.gov.
- The fire has grown to 13,690 acres with 3% containment.
- Some evacuation orders have been lifted. Please check: https://www.fire.ca.gov/incidents/2025/1/7/eaton-fire
- 4,000-5,000 structures have been damaged.
- There are over 1,500 personnel assigned to combating this fire, with additional units and crews on the way.

FEDERAL EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT AGENCY (FEMA) ASSISTANCE
- Individuals and business owners who sustained losses in the designated areas can begin applying for assistance by registering online at DisasterAssistance.gov, or by calling 1-800-621-3362 or by using the FEMA App.
LA COUNTY PROPERTY DAMAGE CLAIMS
- For assistance seeking help for property damage claims, contact the LA County Tax Assessor at Assessor - Disaster Relief or at (213) 974-3211.
INSURANCE CLAIMS & RECOVERY TIPS
- Document damage with photos or videos.
- Keep all receipts for expenses related to evacuation or temporary housing.

SUPPORT FOR IMPACTED BUSINESSES
- The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) is expected to have disaster loans available to homeowners, renters, and businesses of all sizes in areas covered by a disaster declaration. You can find more information here:
