I am proud to share that I have secured $5.5 million for groups and organizations in my District for programs, services, and new construction projects that will benefit the communities in the 57^th Assembly District for years to come.

Senator Grove and I met in my office to discuss SB 14. The meeting was productive and the Senator and I believe there is a pathway forward for the bill.

Our respective staffs did discuss suggested amendments to SB 14 on July 7, 2023, but Senator Grove declined the suggestions.

The Three Strikes model of sentencing is ineffective in preventing crime and protecting the public's safety. We will not build on a deeply flawed sentencing system that unfairly punishes disadvantaged communities. SB 14 makes no new corrective actions or enhancements to laws already in place.

SACRAMENTO, California – (June 8, 2023) – California State Assemblymember, Reggie Jones-Sawyer (D-Los Angeles), has co-authored a resolution that seeks to add a 28^th Amendment to the United States Constitution and requests a constitutional convention be held to initiate debate, vote, and ratification on the proposed amendment.
